This game was Classic, when I played it just after release. A few people complained about the dislocated type wrist action when operating placed guns and maneuvering objects, but the story is great and the dinosaur AI was awesome, as I remember and had me proper scared at the time (those Velociraptors looked so intelligent and cunning).
If you can look past the age and somehow get immersed you are in for a good game.

You can bypass the copyprotection by copying the content of the ISO to a folder, running regedit and changing Data Drive from E:/ to that folder

I've beaten this game so many times and it's disappointing every time. Usually 5 or so years go by. I'm feeling nostalgic, install it, start playing, and it's inevitably worse than I remember. That said I still like it and I'll probably play through it again soon.

Mac users, use WINE or Bootcamp or anything else to run the windows game on your Mac though make sure to install ATX mod.
Same for Linux users, it should work fine under WINE with ATX.

I confess: I love this game! Yes, it's buggy and difficult to play - but it's one of the most original games I've ever played. Stranded on a giant island that's inhabitet by - you guess it - prehistoric monstrosities, you explore the remnants of a great vision: A Jurassic Park. What first comes to my mind if I think on this game: It's huge, open world and manages to evok a feeling of loneliness and desperation. The dinosaurs you'll encounter follow their different behaviours and even if they are not of the most intelligent kind, they sometimes feel menacingly real. The whole experience manages to suck you in the game's world - nothing detracts you from the illusion of seeing through the eyes of your alter ego, even your health indicator is implemented in the gameworld in a very clever way. What made this game way ahead of its time was the physical system it features - while it is lackluster, it still is fascinating to experiment with. You move around crates to climb on a roof otherwise out of reach, you move planks to 'repair' a damaged bridge, you throw objects, stones or even emptied weapons on your enemies. The fighting system needs some practice, but you'll learn it fast. There are so many different things to tell about this game that could have been a masterpiece. For me it's a great game with all its flaws. Just be sure to install the ATX-Mod, it enhances the game and kills some of the nastier bugs.

Gameplay consists of the player (s) going around on a virtual board game map. Knowledge Adventure also concurrently developed and published Jurassic Park III: Dino Defender. Gameplay
InGen's supply of dinosaur DNA is nearly destroyed after an earthquake comes to Jurassic Park. As in Jurassic Park III: Dino Defender, the player is again cast as a Dino Defender. The player must go to Jurassic Park to retrieve new DNA samples. The game includes a multiplayer option. The Dino Defender Chief, a character who serves as both an authority figure and narrator, returns from the previous game to guide the player through menus.[citation needed] Danger Zone! also recycles several cutscenes, menu designs, animations, and audio from Jurassic Park III: Dino Defender.
In the game the tokens are Ford Explorers from Jurassic Park, designed for up to 2 players.[citation needed] The player goes around Jurassic Park on a board-like version of it. The player's mission is to collect four DNA samples from a dinosaur chosen at the start of the game. Dinosaurs include T. rex, Spinosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Compsognathus, Velociraptor, and Stegosaurus. The player can buy items, which can be used against dinosaurs. Jurassic Park III: Danger Zone! features a variety of diverse mini-games. Many mini-games are side-scrolling games that feature the same armored character used in Dino Defender.[citation needed] Other mini-games such as «Raging Raptors» involves the player controlling a raptor and fighting another raptor, or hunting in a field to obtain DNA of dinosaurs using a helicopter. When the player has filled the «DNA meter» with the DNA of the chosen dinosaur, the creature is then cloned and the player wins the game.
Reception
Christy Wasson of GameZone rated the game a 6 out of 10 and wrote, «With a name like Danger Zone I expected so much more action. [.] When you think Jurassic Park and dinosaurs you think action.[.] Danger Zone is somewhat of a let down. [.] The extras that come with the game are more interesting than the game itself.» She praised the graphics, and the sound effects of the game's helicopters and «somewhat realistic» dinosaurs, but also felt that the animation and narration «could use some work.» Wasson also criticized the game's slow loading times, its easy difficulty, and wrote that having to compete against the computer AI «makes the game drag on and on and on. [.] which can cause you to lose interest in the game.» Wasson also believed the game's concept would have worked better with a different theme, rather than as a board game.
